An excellent resource for writers at all stages of their career, and especially for beginning writers.

Carter covers craft questions, the emotional side of our weird job, and breaks down the publishing industry in a super relatable way. The book was written with teen writers in mind, but I recommend it for writers of any age. Her conversational style and the interviews with dozens of other authors make it super readable.

A great resource that provides a comprehensive look at ways to get your book published. Eckstut and Sterry cover: how to query agents, if you need an agent, the benefits of a small verses a large press, how books get sold, the way an auction works, demystifying advances and royalties, and much more.

It’s well organized, and you can easily read only the chapters that apply to your situation.

Michalowicz details his unique bookkeeping method. I like how the method that allows me to keep finances in check, make saving for taxes a priority, and give myself quarterly bonuses.
