Mary Ann in Short<\/h2>\n

Mary Ann McGuigan\u2019s short stories and creative nonfiction are published widely in literary journals, including\u00a0The Sun, Massachusetts Review, The Rumpus, SmokeLong<\/em>, Brevity,<\/em> and many others. Her collection\u00a0Pieces<\/em>\u00a0includes fiction named for the Pushcart Prize and Sundress Publications\u2019 Best of the Net.\u00a0That Very Place<\/a><\/em>, her new collection, published by Unsolicited Press, reaches bookstores on September 9, 2025. The Junior Library Guild and the New York Public Library rank Mary Ann\u2019s YA novels as best books for teens. Where You Belong<\/em>\u00a0was a finalist for the National Book Award, and<\/p>\n

She has served on the panel of judges for the National Book Award for Young People\u2019s Literature. Mary Ann taught English for nearly a decade and was a business and finance editor at Bloomberg L.P. A native of Bronx, New York, she grew up there and in Jersey City. She lives Metuchen, not far from her two handsome grandsons.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
