I’m debuting a workshop for MCPL in mid November.<\/p>\n
Originally it was supposed to be 3 hours & in person, but now it’s one hour via Zoom. So I would like to do a practice run through on the new format for Patron’s only on Thursday night 11\/5 at 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. CST.<\/p>\n
The idea is I get to work out the kinks of the new format, and you all get to ask questions, let me know what you’d like to know more about, and offer feedback about what I can do better in this particular format.<\/p>\n
The class is: The Business of Writing & Authorship.<\/strong><\/p>\n A sustainable writing career requires more than good writing, it requires an understanding of the industry and a consistent investment of time in your writing business. This workshop lays a foundation of effective, sustainable, long-term business practices for writers. This 3-hour workshop covers: an Authorpreneur\u2019s mindset, time-blocking & marketing efficiently, & business basics like: book-keeping, when to look at setting up a business structure (i.e. LLC, corporation, etc.), & finding the right business partners.<\/em><\/p>\n I’m planning on 50 minutes of presentation time. And the remaining 1 hour & 10 minutes for Q&A\/socializing.
