MCPL&#8217;s Woodneath Library, 8900 NE Flintlock Road, Kansas City, MO 64157. Anyone can show up.\u00a0 You&#8217;re encouraged to bring five copies of your piece. (I believe up to 2,000 words.) The group is divided into groups of four where you learn how to critique and revise based on those critiques.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday, August 7th 2019, 6 p.m. &#8211; 8 p.m. Writers United.\u00a0 Jo. Co. Libary&#8217;s Central Resource Branch, 9875 W 87th St, Overland Park, KS 66212. Connect with other writers, get feedback from one another, or get some writing done. Hanging out with Paula Gleeson!<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Who&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/paulagleeson.com\/\">Paula Gleeson <\/a>you ask? She&#8217;s an amazing writer, one of the hardest workers I have ever come across (she makes me look totes <em>lazy<\/em>) and was in my very first Authorpreneurial Coaching session ever. And, oh yeah&#8230; she happens to live in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>We found each other through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ya4ya.com\/\">YA4YA.<\/a> Paula was my mentee and I asked her, &#8220;Hey, would you mind participating in this pilot program I&#8217;m working on?&#8221; Paula generously agreed, and we started working together in November of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>I had a great time doing a comprehensive edit on <em>Finding Snow, <\/em>her YA historical fantasy retelling of Snow White. (Did you know Snow White is based on a real person? Yeah, me neither&#8211;until I met Paula!) And over the next four months we worked through the group sessions together on things like: building author websites, revisions, and the agent\/author relationship.<\/p>\n<p>After class formally came to an end, Paula &amp; I kept working together. We did a few one-on-one coaching sessions when she got her first agent offer.
